James is an proactive and pragmatic project manager who can focus on the bigger picture whilst paying keen attention the detail. James is an expert in the design of high-rise buildings and deep basements with a particular focus on post-tensioning.
James particularly enjoys the initial stages of a project, working with the design team to develop and refine the concept schemes. He is equally adept during detailed design, tender and construction phases when he is typically the main point of contact for the Client and external design team.
Within the company, James is responsible for ensuring his projects are adequately resourced, and on track to meet key deadlines. He oversees internal and peer reviews of the design and modelling carried out by other Walsh engineering teams and third-parties, providing guidance and support as necessary.
James is a member of Walshās technical panel, a Supervising Civil Engineer on our ICE accredited training scheme and is the lead on our internal PT design training.
Outside the office, James helps manage and plays on a hurling team in Fulham and is a keen golfer.
