Walsh applies the same innovative approach to the engineering design of infrastructure as we do to building projects.Ā We have a considerable civil engineering team consisting of highly trained engineers and technicians who are able to deliver a full range of services. From drainage (including SUDS) to roads, sewers, earthworks, flood risk assessments, and drainage impact assessments, we can handle projects ranging from a few 100mĀ² up to 50-100 hectares. In order to simplify the process for you, we are able to assist with all approvals including planning conditions and sectional approvals (104, 38, 106, 278, etc.). And we ensure that the underground details of each build are fully coordinated with sub-structure, using Building Information Modelling (BIM) to support this.
We have particular expertise in sewer diversions and as space continues to become a premium, Walsh are finding that more and more developments are being commissioned over, or near to, existing sewers. The specific service we have developed helps guide clients through the complex process of approvals and gain those required with minimal delay. We are able to provide a full service from initial assessment, options appraisals and value engineering, right through to detailed design and construction drawings. Our detailed understanding and experience of the approvals process means we are often able to provide an early assessment of a site and advise on likely solutions without extensive consultation. This is particularly important in āde-riskingā a development site, especially during the due diligence process, allowing these types of project to move forward confidently.
With a broad range of skills and experience to hand, we are able to undertake both onsite and offsite highways designs, including section 278 and 38 schemes. The sorts of highway works we generally undertake are crossover and site entrances, junctions and estate road designs, though we are open to the challenges that all highways projects bring. We apply the same personal approach to obtaining approvals explained in the approvals management section. We have found that this is the best way to secure highway approvals in the quickest possible time.
