The EC2 development marks a significant milestone in the ambitious revitalisation efforts of an iconic area. With the clientās vision to ābring the wonder back to Earls Court,ā Walsh have commenced works on the EC2 phase of the project. This forms one of the first phases of the development including the tallest tower of the masterplan.
This tower (WB04) will form a beacon for Earls Court with a stand-out design that attracts the eye from all aspects. EC2 encompasses the Empress Place and Aisgail Gardens areas and includes a diverse range of uses. Comprising of five blocks, four of which are residential and up to 45-storeys tall, the development also incorporates a 9000 sq ft retail space and a variety of amenities including a small supermarket, community center, leisure & cultural facilities.
The site is structured across three distinct levels. It begins with the existing site level at 4mAOD, with a raised level at 8mAOD designated for the boulevard, which extends from Empress Place to the southern section of the site.
Finally, at a height of 12mAOD, is Table Park, situated above the transfer structure and spanning the live railway line that traverses the center of the site. This railway line has been retained from the previous exhibition center that occupied the site.
Central to its ethos is a commitment to enhancing the environment, whilst producing economic and social benefit. Through strategic design choices, Walsh aim to minimise its environmental footprint while maximising its positive impact on the community.
