Walsh has worked with Ballymore and Sainsburyās, providing structural, civil and geotechnical services to support a hybrid planning application on this major regeneration scheme, often referred to as Project Flourish. Ladbroke Grove will become the largest new development within The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. A number of key services run across the site that was previously a major gas works with the associated contamination issues.
The design includes utilising an old basin which will be turned into a new wharf which will be connected to the Grand Union Canal, a new high street with local shops, places to work and a new Sainsburyās store.
To the south is the Great Western Rail line out of Paddington with works requiring third-party approvals from Network Rail to build adjacent to the mainline and creating a new compound.
Our scope included the drainage impact assessment, water management strategy and basement impact assessment, as well as the structural and civil advice and guidance through the scheme development. We advised on the phasing of the development including construction of the site-wide infrastructure for construction and final conditions and the interaction between new and existing Sainsburyās stores. The design also includes a number of new pedestrian bridges which will be built across the railway and the canal.
